The first race weekend of the Ginetta Junior Championship is done — and it was a hell of a way to kick things off.

Qualifying didn’t go as planned. I struggled to hook it up early in the session, which cost me big.

The pace was there, but I didn’t maximize the first laps, and in this game, that’s all it takes. Ended up P15 on the grid for Race 1 — not where I wanted to be.

Race 1 was a tough scrap. Chaos everywhere, but I kept it clean and pushed through to P14. Not flashy, but solid for a debut.

Race 2 was a different story. I got into a rhythm, made moves, and climbed up the field. At one point I was running in P8, showing the kind of speed I knew I had. But a late driver error cost me, and I crossed the line in P11. Frustrating, but I learned from it.

That set me up P11 again for Race 3.

Race 3 this one was full-on — accidents, battles, elbows out. I kept my head, stayed sharp, and fought my way to P8 overall, and P5 in the rookie class. The guys around me had more experience, but I didn’t care. I showed real pace, held my ground, and proved I belong here.

It wasn’t a perfect weekend, but the potential was clear. The speed is there. The fight is there. This is just the beginning.
